Happy Independence Day India 2014 Speech Essay Writing

Honorable Chief Guest of the day, distinguished guests for the occasion, teachers, parents and all my dear friends wish you very very Happy Independence Day.

As you know all of us have gathered here to celebrate 67th independence day of our nation. This day, after the hosting national flag, we salute and remember the heroic deeds of all freedom fighters. As a citizen of India, I feel so proud to give a speech on Independence Day and share some of my views with you all. On the night of August 14, 1947, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru rose to make a speech on Independence day in New Delhi, When the world sleeps, India will wake to life and freedom. India became free from the British rule. Now, India is the largest democratic country in the world. The country strength is to find, Unity in diversity. But, there are stray incidents that test her secularism but the people of India are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of unity.
My dear friends,We were the privileged lot to have been born in free India. We were able to breathe the fresh free air since our birth. If at all we want to know the pangs of agony of being slaves under a foreign rule, we must ask our elders born before 1947. It was indeed a Himalayan task for every Indian those days to fight against those powerful giants the British rulers. We must not allow those hard times and struggles fade away from our memories.Hence it is befitting for us to celebrate such National festivals and recall those heroic deeds of our National heroes. We remember them today.
Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we will redeem our pledge, not wholly or in full measure, but very substantially. At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance. We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again.
Today we remember the great leaders who gave their lives for the nations freedom and prosperity. Dr. B.R.Ambedkar gave the longest written constitution to us. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru worked for an Industrialized India. Gandhi taught us Ahimsa and Non-violence. Subhash Chandra Bose inducted courage in us. Swami Vivekananda gave us spiritual power. But its not good to remember the heroic deeds of only few main leaders of freedom fight because the freedom fighting was collective effort. Without cooperation, sacrifice and involvement of all Indians it was impossible to get the freedom. So people of India were the real national heroes behind the success. We should express our sincere gratitude to all those who participated in the freedom struggle. This can only be done by defending our freedom like our ancestral property which cannot be valued.
But the questions arises How to defend?
We know that Single person cannot defend it; again group effort is essential, it is nothing but unity.
But again How to form this unity?
We should always remember that only patriotism can form unity irrespective of religion, language, caste, customs and traditions. So having patriotism only can save the freedom of our nation.
To keep faith in secularism
No compromise must be with patriotism,
Punish the forces that support terrorism
Else one bad day we will loose our freedom.
Well at the end we must take an oath that let us do our duty of preparing ourselves to be well-educated citizens of tomorrow. Let us do our duty sincerely and do work hard to achieve a goal. Today we require youngsters with lot of knowledge and energy. Illiteracy is the first enemy for a democratic nation. Let us get rid of illiteracy and take India to a bright future.
Jai Hind!!! Jai Bharat..!!!!

Happy Independence Day Speech, 15 August Speech
A hearty good afternoon to everyone and to my respected teachers . The Independence day is a memorial to honour and remember our nation’s freedom struggle which finally ended on 15th August 1947. As we bow down our heads today remembering silently the patriotic souls of martyrs like Sardar Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Sukhdev Thapar, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Rani Laxmibai, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mangal Pandey and numerous others. The national holiday is observed throughout India with flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events.
Five years election system was started. Dr. Rajendra Prasad became the first president and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru became the first prime minister of free India. People are united with one common thought – patriotism.
During the first days of independence around midnight on 14 August 1947 Jawaharlal Nehru gave the popular tryst with destiny speech “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom .” Today, the Prime minister hoists the Indian flag at the Red fort in Delhi, twenty-one gun shots are fired in honour of the occasion. Generally India receives terrorist threats on this day especially Delhi and some other big cities like Mumbai. People fly kites in many places throughout the country. The main setbacks for British in India were – first the revolt of 1857, the Civil Disobedience Movement, Quit India movement .
But as we know that even after 68 years of independence, we still have to achieve freedom from corruption, poverty, incapability in or minds and social stigma’s prevailing in our society. We demand more transparency in the system. Jai Bharat!
